توضیحات روی اسکناس Central vignette of a horse-drawn plough, a recurring agricultural motif common to the Currency Commission consolidated banknote series, set within an intricate guilloche border. Bilingual text in English and Irish (Gaelic) identifies the issuing authority and the paying bank, with the denomination stated as "One Pound" and "Punt" respectively. The name of The Ulster Bank Limited appears as the participating bank responsible for payment at the principal Dublin office.

توضیحات پشت اسکناس A large central intaglio-printed vignette depicts the Custom House, Dublin, viewed from the River Liffey, with a tall-masted sailing vessel moored in the foreground and dramatic cloud formations above the neoclassical façade. The composition is framed by an elaborate guilloche border with acanthus-scroll ornamentation, and the denomination numeral "£1" appears in bold relief within decorative cartouches at both the left and right margins. The overall colour scheme is green with a lilac-purple guilloche underprint.

The Currency Commission of Ireland operated an unusual consolidated note arrangement from 1928 onward, under which the participating banks — Ulster Bank among them — issued notes bearing their own name but backed collectively and regulated centrally. Each bank's notes were legal tender only for that bank's liabilities, yet all circulated freely across the Free State alongside the consolidated series. Ulster Bank's own network was concentrated in the north, making Southern Irish circulation of these notes genuinely limited.

Two signature combinations are known across the series dates, reflecting the Commission's changing personnel rather than any reissue or design modification. Brennan served as Currency Commissioner throughout; Patton gave way to Lester in 1937.
