Issued to mark Egypt's annual Traders Day celebration, this piece belongs to a series of commemorative gold pounds produced by the Egyptian Mint in the 1980s targeting domestic collectors and the Gulf souvenir trade. KM#604 is among the less frequently encountered issues from this run — not because mintages were dramatically low, but because a substantial portion left Egypt through informal export channels and entered private holdings abroad, making accurate surviving population counts unreliable.
