The 2013 date places this note in the final years of De La Rue's long relationship with the Bailiwick — a contract stretching back decades through multiple series redesigns. It's a relatively short-run issue by comparison with its predecessors, and examples that actually circulated show wear quickly given the note's modest dimensions relative to how frequently a pound changes hands in everyday transactions.
De La Rue's London facility handled both printing and security feature integration, including the windowed security thread specific to this series.
