正面描述	Blue-green note with an intricate guilloche border framing the entire face. At the top centre, a vignette of a Gothic cathedral or civic building flanks two large numeral '1' denominators at either corner, with heraldic shield vignettes to the left and right sides. The central text area carries the bank's name in ornate letterpress script, the promise-to-pay clause in copperplate engraving, the denomination ONE POUND in bold, and the place of issue ABERDEEN with a manuscript date of 1st March 1916, all above the authorising legend 'By order of the Directors'.
