The central text area carries the bank's name in ornate letterpress script, the promise-to-pay clause in copperplate engraving, the denomination ONE POUND in bold, and the place of issue ABERDEEN with a manuscript date of 1st March 1916, all above the authorising legend 'By order of the Directors'. |
