Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features dense Arabic calligraphic inscriptions arranged across the entire field in an ornate style. The upper portion of the field carries an Arabic legend in two curved lines reading 'مجلس الشعب' (People's Assembly), with further calligraphic text flanking the central area. The denomination '١ جنيه' (1 Pound) appears prominently in the centre, accompanied by the country name 'جمهورية مصر العربية' (Arab Republic of Egypt) in two lines below. The dual date '١٤٠٦ - ١٩٨٦' (AH 1406 – AD 1986) is inscribed along the lower portion of the field. The entire design is enclosed by a decorative dashed border running along the inner edge of the rim.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse depicts a detailed architectural scene commemorating the restoration of the Egyptian Parliament (People's Assembly) building in Cairo. In the foreground, the large ornate ribbed dome of the parliament building is rendered in fine detail, with decorative scalloped arches visible along its base. Construction scaffolding and workers are shown atop the structure, symbolising the ongoing restoration works. To the left, a secondary domed structure with arched windows and stonework is visible, alongside a tall minaret rising prominently into the upper field, reflecting the Islamic architectural character of the surrounding Cairo cityscape. The field is plain, and the design is enclosed by the same rectangular dashed inner border as the obverse.
