| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is executed in blue-green on a pale plain ground, centred on a large circular vignette of the bank's full heraldic arms — supported by two flanking figures and surmounted by a crest — enclosed within an ornate guilloche rosette border carrying the statutory inscription around its circumference. A vertical guilloche panel runs along the right margin, and the printer's imprint is placed along the lower edge. |

The North of Scotland Bank was one of the smaller Scottish chartered banks that managed to survive the consolidation waves of the late nineteenth century, operating primarily out of Aberdeen. By the time this series was issued, the bank was already in the closing chapter of its independent existence — it merged with the Clydesdale Bank in 1950, ending over a century of separate operation.
Bradbury Wilkinson handled a significant portion of Scottish provincial note printing during this period, and the New Malden works were well established by the late 1920s for exactly this kind of regional commercial bank business.
