Surmounting the shield is the Royal Crown with a lion statant guardant as crest, and below the shield a riband bearing the Garter motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE encircles the composition, while a scrolled compartment at the base displays the floral emblems of the United Kingdom and the motto ribbon DIEU ET MON DROIT. The denomination ONE POUND appears in the lower legend, with an inner beaded border enclosing the entire design. |
