| Beschrijving keerzijde | The full Royal Arms of the United Kingdom occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with the quartered shield displaying the three lions passant guardant of England in the first and fourth quarters, the lion rampant of Scotland in the second quarter, and the harp of Ireland in the third quarter. The shield is supported on the dexter by a crowned lion rampant guardant and on the sinister by a unicorn passant, the latter gorged with a coronet and chained. Surmounting the shield is the Royal Crown with a lion statant guardant as crest, and below the shield a riband bearing the Garter motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE encircles the composition, while a scrolled compartment at the base displays the floral emblems of the United Kingdom and the motto ribbon DIEU ET MON DROIT. The denomination ONE POUND appears in the lower legend, with an inner beaded border enclosing the entire design. |
