| Beschrijving keerzijde | Left-facing crowned bust of Queen Victoria in the celebrated 'Gothic' portrait style, based on William Wyon's iconic design first used on the 1847 Gothic Crown. Victoria is depicted wearing an ornate, jewelled Gothic crown and richly detailed medieval-style robes with elaborate decorative medallions at the shoulders. The Gothic legend in blackletter-style script encircles the effigy, and the engraver's initials EIC appear in the lower right field. A fine beaded border frames the entire design. |
