Surrounding the central shield are three smaller roundels depicting the Edinburgh Castle, the cross of St George, and a dragon, referencing the other capitals of the United Kingdom. The denomination ONE POUND arcs along the left and right periphery, with BELFAST inscribed across the upper field within a raised border, all executed in high relief befitting a piedfort striking. |
