Obverse description The obverse is printed in blue and orange on a cream ground, with the crowned Libyan royal arms in a cartouche at the left, flanked by stylised wheat-ear vignettes at the outer edges. A dense guilloche underprint in orange and green occupies the central panel, overlaid with Arabic text giving the denomination and the legal-tender and issuing authority inscriptions. The serial number appears in both the lower-left and upper-right panels, with the Bank of Libya name in Arabic script across the top.

Reverse description The reverse is printed entirely in blue, with 'BANK OF LIBYA' in bold letterpress across the top border flanked by the £1 currency symbols at each corner. The central vignette carries the denomination 'ONE LIBYAN POUND' in large intaglio letters over an intricate geometric guilloche ground, with a legal-tender clause above it. To the left is a blank watermark window and to the right a finely engraved diamond-shaped rosette panel; the lower border carries the issuing authority and law reference in English.
