The denomination is stated in large Arabic script at centre-left, with serial numbers appearing twice and dual-date inscription in both Hijri and Gregorian calendars at the lower margin.

Mô tả mặt sau	The reverse is executed in brown and tan intaglio printing, dominated by a large central vignette of the historic norias (water wheels) of Hama set alongside a Roman aqueduct with arched spans, framed by trees and riverside scenery. The English bank title 'CENTRAL BANK OF SYRIA' and denomination 'ONE SYRIAN POUND' appear at the top within a rectilinear border, with 'POUND' repeated at the lower left and right corners and the Gregorian year at the base.
