Obverse description Printed in brown and ochre tones, the obverse carries the bank title in Arabic within a decorative guilloche cartouche at the top. To the right, an intaglio vignette of an industrial worker at a machine is set against a background of factory machinery, with an arched architectural vignette at centre. The denomination is stated in large Arabic script at centre-left, with serial numbers appearing twice and dual-date inscription in both Hijri and Gregorian calendars at the lower margin.

Reverse description The reverse is executed in brown and tan intaglio printing, dominated by a large central vignette of the historic norias (water wheels) of Hama set alongside a Roman aqueduct with arched spans, framed by trees and riverside scenery. The English bank title 'CENTRAL BANK OF SYRIA' and denomination 'ONE SYRIAN POUND' appear at the top within a rectilinear border, with 'POUND' repeated at the lower left and right corners and the Gregorian year at the base.
