The central panel bears the promise-to-pay text, the denomination tablet 'ONE POUND' within a guilloche frame, serial prefix 'N° B' at Salisbury, the date '1st July, 1922.', and a red diagonal 'SPECIMEN' overprint; the note is signed 'By Order of the Board of Directors' with the Acct.
