Constantine IV ruled Cilician Armenia for less than two years before being deposed and murdered in 1344 by a faction of the Hethumid nobility who replaced him with Constantine V. His coinage is accordingly scarce, compressed into a reign defined by dynastic instability and the accelerating collapse of the kingdom under Mamluk pressure from the south.
