| Obverse description | Enthroned frontal effigy of Constantine IV (Guy), depicted seated facing on a high-backed throne, holding a fleur-de-lis sceptre in the right hand and a patriarchal cross in the left. The figure is rendered in the flat, stylized manner characteristic of late Cilician Armenian coinage. An Armenian legend surrounds the central device within a beaded border. |

| Additional information |
Constantine IV ruled Cilician Armenia for less than two years before being deposed and murdered in 1344 by a faction of the Hethumid nobility who replaced him with Constantine V. His coinage is accordingly scarce, compressed into a reign defined by dynastic instability and the accelerating collapse of the kingdom under Mamluk pressure from the south.
