| Obverse description | Crowned quartered coat of arms of Mary of Nemours occupying the central field, combining the fleurs-de-lis of France and the chevrons of Longueville in alternate quarters, surmounted by a royal crown. The shield is rendered in a bold, slightly irregular hammered style characteristic of late 17th-century Swiss coinage. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the device, separated from the toothed border by a fine inner circle. The entire design reflects the heraldic tradition of the Neuchâtel principality under the House of Longueville. |
