Reverse description Pope Innocent XII enthroned in majesty facing right, presiding over a formal consistory scene, with nine cardinals seated on curved benches arranged around him. An audience or delegation is depicted to the right, approaching the enthroned pontiff. Above, a dove descends from parting clouds, symbolizing the Holy Spirit and divine sanction of the papal decree. The reverse legend PACEM LOQVETUR GENTIBUS, meaning 'He shall speak peace unto the nations' (Zechariah 9:10), arcs across the upper field. The composition is a masterful example of late Baroque narrative numismatic art, demonstrating the high artistic standards of the Roman papal mint.
