Obverse description Central oval shield bearing the combined arms of Salzburg and Austria — the dexter half displaying the Austrian fess, the sinister half the Salzburg lion — enclosed within a circular frame surmounted by a ribbon bow at the apex. The shield is flanked and encircled by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon bow at the base. The mint initials S.B. (Salzburg) appear in the lower field beneath the wreath, flanked by the ribbon ends.
