Obverse description Standing figure of Saint Andrew depicted in full relief at center, robed and draped, bearing a large saltire cross (X-shaped) diagonally across the field. The saint is shown with a halo, facing slightly to the right, his garments rendered with fine linear detail. The figure stands upon a small ground line, below which appear the engraver's initials I.W.S. in raised Latin letters. The plain field surrounding the design is unadorned, with no peripheral legend.
