| Reverse description | The reverse displays a complex, architecturally inspired design featuring multiple stylized towers or turrets arranged across the field, consistent with a city gate or fortified wall motif, a common heraldic device on Austrian pfennigs of this period. Between and below the architectural elements, a prominent eagle or dragon figure with spread wings and a foliate or fleur-de-lis tail is depicted in the lower field. The composition is densely arranged with additional small ornamental elements filling the field, all rendered in the bold, low-relief style typical of hammered Viennese deniers of the mid-thirteenth century. No legend is present. |
