Obverse description A rampant lion facing left, depicted in bold relief within a beaded inner circle. The lion is shown with a crowned head, raised forepaw, and a bifurcated tail. The design is characteristic of the Bamberg episcopal heraldic tradition of the late 14th century. A Latin 'V' is positioned to the left of the lion figure within the field. The coin exhibits the irregular flan and flat relief typical of hammered medieval bracteate-style pfennigs.
