| Obverse description | A rampant lion facing left, depicted in bold relief within a beaded inner circle. The lion is shown with a crowned head, raised forepaw, and a bifurcated tail. The design is characteristic of the Bamberg episcopal heraldic tradition of the late 14th century. A Latin 'V' is positioned to the left of the lion figure within the field. The coin exhibits the irregular flan and flat relief typical of hammered medieval bracteate-style pfennigs. |

| Additional information |
Lamprecht von Brunn held the see of Bamberg from 1374 until his death in 1399, a tenure marked by persistent conflict with the Hohenzollern burgraves of Nuremberg over territorial rights along the Regnitz corridor. These small bracteate-style pfennigs were struck under episcopal authority at a moment when Bamberg's mint was actively competing with secular coinage flooding the same regional markets.
Krug Bam#119a places this piece within a tightly catalogued sequence; variants within the type are distinguished by subtle differences in the inner ring and lettering punch depth.
