| Reverse description | The reverse of this small copper Pfennig appears to bear a plain or minimally decorated field, consistent with the practice of many minor German territorial coinages of the period where the denomination or issuer's arms appeared on only one side. No legend or additional device is discernible on this face. |

| Additional information |
Montfort-Peggau was a small Styrian lordship whose coinage rights were exercised sporadically and often contentiously with Habsburg oversight. John VIII's copper pfennig issues of 1676 represent some of the final coinage struck under the county's independent authority before absorption into the broader Austrian administrative structure rendered local minting effectively obsolete.
