Reverse description Central field displays the numeral 'I' surmounted by a small arrow or pointer device, flanked on either side by a rosette or floral ornament, above the legend PFENN in bold capital letters. Below the denomination inscription, a horizontal rule separates the legend from an elaborate foliate or scrollwork cartouche at the base of the field. The overall design is symmetrical and decorative, consistent with the Kleinmünze coinage of the small German states of the mid-eighteenth century.
