| 背面描述 | The reverse bears the initial 'E' in Gothic or early Renaissance letterform, serving as the monogram of Bishop Ernest of Bavaria (Ernst von Bayern), the issuing authority of the Bishopric of Passau during this period. The letter is placed centrally within the field, which is otherwise unadorned. The plain, unlettered edge and the rough flan are consistent with hammered pfennig coinage of early sixteenth-century southern Germany. No additional inscription or decorative border is present. |

Ernest of Bavaria held the Bishopric of Passau from 1517 until his death in 1540, ruling a see that sat at the confluence of the Danube, Inn, and Ilz rivers — a position that made Passau one of the more economically active ecclesiastical territories in the Empire. Small silver pfennigs of this type circulated heavily in regional trade and rarely survived without significant wear, which makes intact examples genuinely uncommon.
