1 Peso Mule

A mule combines dies not originally intended to pair — in this case, the Honduras 1 Peso obverse was struck against a reverse die from a different denomination or issue entirely. Such pairings typically arise from die management errors at the mint, or occasionally from deliberate experimentation when scheduled dies were unavailable. Honduras contracted much of its silver coinage production to foreign mints during the 1890s, which created exactly the kind of logistical confusion that produces mule combinations.

KM#62 is sparsely documented, and confirmed authentic examples are rare enough that attribution disputes are not uncommon in the trade.
