| Obverse description | Letterpress-printed in black on plain paper, the note is divided into three vertical zones: the left and right margins carry a repeated geometric ornamental border incorporating the legend UN PESO, while the central field presents the Imperial Coat of Arms flanked by the denomination UN PESO in bold text at upper left and a handwritten serial number at upper right. Below the arms, a text block records the promise of El Imperio Mexicano to pay one peso in accordance with the Decree of 20 December 1822, dated Mexico, 1 January 1823, and is authenticated at the foot by three manuscript signatures. |
