| Beschrijving keerzijde | A facing bust portrait of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, the Cuban independence hero known as the Father of the Homeland, is rendered in moderate relief at the centre of the field. The subject is depicted with shoulder-length wavy hair, a moustache, and a goatee, wearing a mid-nineteenth-century frock coat with a large bow cravat. The date 1868, marking the year of the Grito de Yara, appears to the left of the portrait, while 1977, the centenary commemoration year, appears to the right accompanied by a small key emblem and a star.
