| Obverse description | Plain rectangular note with a simple border frame and the large bold legend PROVINCE OF MASBATE across the upper portion. The central text ONE PESO appears in large serif lettering, below which a redemption clause reads REDEEMABLE TO THE BEARER IN SILVER PESOS OR IN LEGAL TENDER CURRENCY OF THE UNITED STATES OR EQUIVALENT HAWAIIAN. A serial number appears to the right of the central denomination, with three manuscript signatures across the lower section above the designation EMERGENCY TREASURY CERTIFICATE. |
