| Obverse description | Black on light tan paper. The upper portion bears the title OBLIGACIONES in large serif letters, flanked by ornate border work, with PROVINCIA DE SALTA across the centre and a central oval control stamp in red. The legend LA PROVINCIA RECONOCE AL PORTADOR appears above the denomination UN PESO in bold lettering, followed by the inscription MONEDA NACIONAL DE CURSO LEGAL, the authorising law reference, and the issue date SALTA, 31 DE AGOSTO DE 1916. Two manuscript signatures appear at the lower left and lower right, with printed titles CONTADOR GENERAL and MINISTRO DE HACIENDA respectively, and the serial number is printed below centre. |

| Reverse description | Printed in terracotta/brown tones on light paper. The design is dominated by a central oval vignette containing a bull's head in three-quarter view, surrounded by an intricate guilloche border. Flanking the central vignette are two large ornamental numeral-1 medallions set within decorative rosette frames, and the whole composition is enclosed by a Greek-key pattern outer border. PROVINCIA DE SALTA appears in a curved banner at the top, and a text panel at the base cites the relevant provincial law and the conditions of acceptance of the obligations. |
