| 表面の説明 | The obverse is printed in red and black on white paper, with an elaborate guilloche underprint framing a central vignette of a large numeral "1" set within an ornate cartouche. The bank title "BANCO NACIONAL DEL SALVADOR" arches across the top in bold letterpress, with "AMERICA CENTRAL" below it; the serial number 16010 appears at left and right, and the place and date "SAN SALVADOR" and "15 DE SEPTIEMBRE 1908" are inscribed in the lower field. A promise-to-pay text in Spanish — "Pagará al portador... a la vista y en efectiva" — runs across the mid-section, and three manuscript signatures of bank officials appear along the bottom edge. |

| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is printed in a single dark rose-red ink, with a dense guilloche pattern filling the entire field. The bank name "BANCO NACIONAL DEL SALVADOR" is lettered across the upper portion, and a central large numeral "1" within an intricate lathe-work frame dominates the design. "SAN SALVADOR" appears in a straight banner across the lower portion, with small numeral "1" counters in each corner. |

The Banco Nacional del Salvador was dissolved in 1913 when El Salvador centralized its currency system, making any notes issued in the final years of the bank's operation relatively short-lived in circulation. The 1908 date places this squarely in that closing window — fewer than five years before the institution ceased to exist.
Salvadoran private and semi-official bank issues from this period are poorly documented in standard references, and P#161 sits in a catalog range where condition and provenance details vary significantly between known examples.
