Descrizione del dritto	Plain rectangular note with a simple ruled border and dotted guilloche band at top and bottom. The central area carries the denomination UN PESO in bold letterpress at upper left, flanked by the Argentine national coat of arms — a radiant sun above an oval cartouche with clasped hands — with a handwritten serial number to the right. Below, a five-line Spanish text in cursive script reads the promise to pay, followed by the issuing authority line POR LOS DIRECTORES Y COMP., and two bold manuscript signatures above the CAJA DE legend at foot. The heading BANCO NACIONAL appears in a ruled panel at the very top of the note.

Commenti	Banco Nacional was Colombia's first formally chartered national bank, established in 1821 under the newly independent republic. Its note issues from the 1820s are among the earliest circulating paper money from post-independence South America, predating most regional banking infrastructure by decades. The institution was short-lived — chronic undercapitalization and political instability effectively paralyzed it well before mid-century, and its note issues were never recalled in any organized fashion. PS prefix in the Pick catalogue indicates a private or semi-official issuer rather than a central state authority — an important distinction for a period when Colombia's monetary arrangements were genuinely experimental. Surviving examples from this series are rare by any measure.
