Hundreds of local bodies, cooperatives, and municipal councils responded by issuing their own paper emergency currency, known as *moneda de necessitat*. This note from the Cooperativa Obrera Pastisseria Mutua in Vic belongs to that sprawling, decentralized monetary improvisation: a bakery workers' cooperative producing its own peseta scrip.
