The denomination legend 'Vale por UNA peseta' is set in large bold type across the upper half, beneath which the word 'CONTABILIZADO' appears underlined above a central circular vignette divided into quadrants. The issuing municipality 'QUINTANAR (Cuenca)' is printed in bold capitals along the lower edge, with a violet control stamp applied to the lower-left corner and a handwritten serial notation in the right margin.

备注	Quintanar issued this local peseta during the Spanish Civil War, when the Republican government's inability to maintain adequate small change in circulation prompted hundreds of municipalities across Castile and the rest of the Republican zone to print their own emergency fractional currency. These municipally sanctioned pieces — variously called "billetes locales" or simply "papel moneda de emergencia" — were legal only within the issuing locality and theoretically redeemable, though redemption became academic as the war turned against the Republic. The Gari Morell catalog reference places this among the rarer provincial emissions; not all municipal issues from this period survived in any documented quantity.
