| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of King Henry III rendered in crude hammered style, the king depicted without sceptre, with a stylised bearded visage featuring prominent eyes and a wide face enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The crown is shown with three ornamental points or fleurs. A circular Latin legend in uncial script runs around the periphery of the coin within the beaded border, identifying the monarch. |

A circular Latin legend in uncial script runs around the periphery, naming the moneyer and mint of issue. The design is characteristic of the Long Cross coinage introduced in 1247 to deter clipping. |
