Reverse description The central design features a bold six-pointed star (hexagram) formed by two interlocking equilateral triangles in high relief, centered on the round hole of the coin. The legend 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA' curves along the upper periphery in Latin capitals, flanked by the milled border. The date appears in the lower exergue, separated from the star by two raised pellets on either side. The overall composition is geometric and strongly stylized, reflecting the distinctive aesthetic of British colonial coinage for West Africa.
