Description de l’avers	Green and black letterpress note with a scalloped guilloche border enclosing a central green underprint of repeating text; the bold block inscription ONE PENNY and date 1ST JULY 1942 are overprinted across the underprint below the issuer title GOVERNMENT OF FIJI at top. The Coat of Arms of Fiji appears as a vignette at centre-left within the underprint, accompanied by the legend FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF FIJI and three manuscript signatures above the printed text COMMISSIONERS OF CURRENCY. At right, a circular vignette reproduces the obverse of the Fiji penny coin, with the crowned royal cypher and the legend KING GEORGE VI EMPEROR encircling the coin's central hole.
