Reverse description The denomination and last two digits of the regnal year are displayed in four lines across the central field in large, bold Gothic lettering: the numeral I flanked by triangular pellets on the first line, followed by PEN on the second line, NING on the third line, and the date digits 46 flanked by triangular pellets on the fourth line. The inscription fills the entire field and is contained within a plain raised rim, consistent with the hammered production technique of mid-16th century Danish coinage.
