Obverse description Central short cross pattée with concave arms occupying the inner field, flanked by four crescent-shaped ornaments placed in the cardinal angles. The central device is enclosed within a raised inner dodecagonal border, beyond which a Latin legend in retrograde or irregular characters runs in the annular field. The outermost rim is defined by a beaded border, characteristic of late Viking-Age Danish hammered coinage.
