Reverse description A double-lined cross occupies the central field, enclosed within a solid inner ring, a motif widely employed on medieval Scandinavian pennies of this period. A Latin uncial legend encircles the central device, with a further solid ring forming the rim border. The cross motif reflects both Christian symbolism and the prevailing die-cutting conventions of eleventh-century Norwegian royal coinage.
