The tughra is set against a plain field and surrounded by a border of small radiating dashes or pellets near the rim. The design occupies the full face of the flan, with the calligraphic monogram serving as the sole device in accordance with Ottoman numismatic convention. |

| Opis rewersu | The reverse features a multi-line Arabic inscription in the central field, recording the mint name Kostantiniyye (Constantinople) and the regnal year 1168 AH, with the phrase 'duriba fi Kostantiniyye' indicating the place of striking.
