| Obverse description | Armored bust of Ferdinand de Ligne, Count of Aspremont-Linden and Lord of Reckem, facing right, wearing a ruffled collar and plate armor, rendered in low relief characteristic of hammered copper coinage. The portrait is centrally placed within the coin field, exhibiting the crude but expressive engraving style typical of minor Flemish lordship issues of the early seventeenth century. The surrounding circular legend reads MONETA NOVA COMITIS AS L, identifying this as new coinage of the County of Aspremont-Linden. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with hand-hammered production methods of the period. |

| Reverse description | Central shield bearing the arms of Zeeland — a rampant lion emerging from waves — surmounted by a crowned helmet with mantling, displayed within a plain inner border. The date is divided across the upper field, flanking the crown, with the numerals split on either side of the shield. The surrounding circular legend reads DEVS PROTECTOR NO with the date 1657 incorporated into the legend. The overall design follows the conventional heraldic style employed on the copper oord coinage of the Spanish Netherlands lordships during the mid-seventeenth century. |
