| Popis rubu | A frontal bust of Saint James the Apostle is depicted in the centre of the flan, rendered in a flat, hieratic Romanesque style consistent with Iberian ecclesiastical imagery of the late 12th century. The figure appears nimbed or crowned, shown facing forward with stylised facial features including a beard, and wearing vestments indicated by incised linear detailing across the chest. The circular legend *IACOBI* surrounds the bust, invoking the patron saint of the pilgrimage route and the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. The flan edges are irregular and the strike is characteristically uneven, typical of hammered billon obols of this period. |
