| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Peru occupies the central field, depicting a shield divided into three sections: a vicuña in the upper left, a cinchona tree in the upper right, and a cornucopia spilling coins in the lower section. The shield is flanked by a palm branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, tied together at the base with a ribbon. A civic wreath surmounts the shield. The circular legend BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERU arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 2013 positioned at the lower center. The coin has a distinctive twelve-sided (dodecagonal) inner border within the round flan. |

| Reverse description | The reverse features a stylized depiction of a Paracas textile figure, rendered in the intricate geometric and zoomorphic style characteristic of the Paracas culture (5th century BC to 1st century AD). The central motif shows a richly adorned anthropomorphic deity or shaman figure with elaborate headdress, surrounded by stylized feline and serpentine appendages, faithfully reproducing the embroidered iconography of ancient Paracas mantles. To the right of the main figure, a vertically lined panel contains a smaller anthropomorphic motif. The denomination 1 NUEVO SOL appears in large vertical lettering to the left of the central design, and the legend ARTE TEXTIL PARACAS / S. V a.C - S. I d.C is inscribed in the upper field. The mint mark LM appears in the lower right area of the field. |
