Obverse description The obverse displays the National Coat of Arms of Peru in the central field, surrounded by the circular legend BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ along the upper periphery. The denomination UN NUEVO SOL appears in the lower portion of the field, with the date 1999 positioned below the arms. At either side of the coat of arms, the weight specification 57.385 g and the gold fineness ORO 0916 are inscribed.

Reverse description The reverse features relief maps of Peru and Ecuador positioned prominently in the central field, accompanied by a dove in flight as a symbol of peace. A two-line commemorative legend encircles the design, reading PRIMER ANIVERSARIO DE LOS ACUERDOS DE PAZ DE BRASILIA in the upper arc and AMISTAD Y DESARROLLO PERÚ-ECUADOR in the lower arc. The commemorative date range 1998-1999 appears in the exergue, marking the first anniversary of the Peace Agreements of Brasilia.
