| Aanvullende informatie |
Orbegoso is among the more obscure figures honored in Peru's presidential commemorative series — a liberal caudillo who held the presidency from 1833 to 1836 largely through civil war rather than electoral mandate, his tenure marked by the failed Peru-Bolivian Confederation experiment backed by Andrés de Santa Cruz. He spent much of his presidency fighting rival claimants and ultimately died in exile in France in 1847.
