| 背面描述 | A detailed view of the façade of the Lima Cathedral dominates the central field, rendered in fine relief showing its twin bell towers and ornate Baroque architecture. To the left, the numeral '1' is incorporated into a decorative security design element featuring latent image patterning, while a stylised Inca figure or totem motif appears to the right. The legend CATEDRAL DE LIMA arcs along the upper border, with the founding year 1541 inscribed immediately below, referencing the cathedral's establishment. The denomination 1 NUEVO SOL is inscribed in the lower portion of the design. |

Part of Peru's "Riqueza y Orgullo del Perú" commemorative circulation series, which the Banco Central de Reserva launched in 2010 to highlight architectural, natural, and cultural heritage sites across the country's regions. The Lima Cathedral, begun in 1535 on the orders of Francisco Pizarro and built largely on the foundations of an Inca palace, took over two centuries to complete in its present form following repeated earthquake damage — the 1746 Lima earthquake destroyed much of the structure, necessitating a near-total reconstruction.
