| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central motif is a faithful high-relief reproduction of the colonial Spanish macuquina (cob) coin, depicting two crowned Pillars of Hercules rising from stylized waves, with the mintmark P and assayer's initial flanking the central design, and the motto PLVS VLTRA on a scroll between the pillars. The legend encircling this central macuquina device reads NVM REXONIARVM ET INDIARVM in archaic Latin around the inner ring. The outer border legend reads MONEDAS HISTÓRICAS VIII SERIE IBEROAMERICANA along the upper arc and LA MACUQUINA along the lower arc. The proof fields provide a deeply mirrored contrast to the finely detailed frosted devices. |
